About Phil's Professional Experience
Phil grew up in Mount Vernon, NY. He went to college at Long Island University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. During his senior year of college, he began selling sell Life Insurance, then continued after college by adding a Property and Casualty Insurance license to his portfolio, and shortly thereafter attained a securities license. Phil served in the New York Army National Guard for 6 years. In 1978, he formed Life Markets Co. Inc. and that company is still active today. He also was the owner of Philip M Arena Inc., an independent property and casualty firm from 1980 through 1996 when they were purchased by USI Northeast. Shortly after moving to Arizona he met Marv and together they started Arena-Quirt Financial, which merged with SJI Financial Services in 2022.

Phil has been happily married to his wife Priscilla for over 50 years and has one daughter and two grandchildren. He will support any New York team like the Giants, Yankees, Mets, Rangers, and Knicks. He has a passion for golf and has traveled to Europe multiple times. His favorite golf trips were to Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. He enjoys traveling with his family as well and their trips to Italy are special because of the people, amazing food, and even better memories that were made.
